From its opening chapters, the Bible abounds in teachings which inform sound economic thought including the Imago Dei and the Creation Mandate, which encourage godly enterprise and resourceful management of the earth’s riches; the Fall, which undermines utopian schemes; and the Eighth Commandment, which honors private property.
